BP cut corners at every opportunity

by admin on June 15th, 2010

In the run up to Tony Hayward’s appearance before the (BP’s Ceo) House energy and Commerce committees Thursday, the House released a letter and tons of supporting documents which portray BP in the worst possible light. “”The common feature of these five decisions is that they posed a trade-off between cost and well safety,” said Henry Waxman D-Calif.
“Time after time, it appears that BP made decisions that increased the risk of a blowout to save the company time or expense, If this is what happened, BP’s carelessness and complacency have inflicted a heavy toll on the Gulf, its inhabitants, and the workers on the rig.” This Ap article lays out the charges one by one, and includes an email from a Bp engineer in which he describes it as a “nightmare well”. In any case we’re predicting a nightmare for Mr. Hayward when he appears Thursday on Capital Hill.
