Mississippi DMR want more boats to sign up for VOOP

The Mississippi Dept. of Marine resouces is asking any licensed Mississippi commercial fisherman who have a boat and who have not registered yet with the Vessels of Opportunity program to contact them immediately. Below is the press release they issued.If you know of any Vietnamese fishermen who might need translators please contact us at admin@helpcleanupthegulfcoast.com and we will try and arrange for them to help with this process.

If you are a licensed Mississippi commercial fisherman with a large shrimp
boat-size vessel and you would like to work in the BP Vessel of Opportunity program and have
not yet signed up, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) asks that you
contact them immediately. Please call Lauren Thompson at 228-523-4053 or Shelly Becker at
228-523-4051 in MDMR Public Affairs with your name and a description of your vessel.

216-5010.
