On April 20th 2010, the Deep Horizon oil rig exploded off the Louisiana coast. 11 workers were killed, and our prayers go out to their families. The resultant oil leak has pushed about 200,000 gallons of oil a day into the Gulf and towards the delicate ecosystem of Louisiana and Mississippi, and the pristine beaches of Alabama and Florida. Without thousands of volunteers and help from around the country, this could be a catastrophe.
