Pass Christian, Bay Saint Louis, and Waveland get oil.

by admin on July 5th, 2010

The three most western cities on the Mississippi Gulf coast saw significant oil over the Holiday weekend, this means the entire coast of Mississippi has now seen oil. The beaches remain open and no swimming advisories have been forth coming from MDEQ as of yet. The entire Mississippi Sound remains off limits to fishing however. And bad weather over parts of the weekend meant fewer skimming and VOOP operations both in the Sound and out past the barrier islands. DMR does report heavy oil about six miles east of Horn island that appeared to be heading east.
